Current Weather Conditions: Snow has begun to fall in the western and central parts of the county.

Current Road Conditions: The snow has had little effect so far; most of the routes reporting wet roads.

Current Operations: All available trucks are out at this time sanding intersections, hills and curves.

Forecast Weather Conditions: ½” of snow forecasted.

The Weld County Sheriff’s Office is pleased to announce Lt. Noonan recently graduated from the School of Police Staff and Command at Northwestern University.

Lt. Noonan has successfully completed the 10-week Staff and Command program that was from August 13th to December 14th, 2018. This program, which was implemented by the Center for Public Safety in 1983, has graduated over 20,000 students. Lt. Noonan was a student in the SPSC Class #443 which accommodated a total of 38 students. The topics of the study include: Leadership, Human Resources, Employee Relations, Organizational Behavior, Applied Statistics, Planning and Policy Development, Budgeting and Resource Allocation.

The Weld County Sheriff’s Office anticipates a variety of benefits from the training Lt. Noonan achieved while attending. The training will not only help Lt. Noonan but also the Weld County community.

On February 20th, 2019, Deputy Sitzman with the Weld County Sheriff’s Office received the Meritorious Service Award for his time and dedication to the Field Evidence Technician (FET) unit.

Deputy Sitzman has spent the last 13 years as an FET and has been apart of many major cases. During his time as an FET, Deputy Sitzman has trained new deputies and POST academies in evidence collection. Since the beginning of Deputy Sitzman FET career he was also a member of the CIRT team. Deputy Sitzman is a court recognized expert witness in the field of blood splatter documentation and reconstruction. Deputy Sitzman evidence collection is above board and has helped to convict many criminals.
